For those Suns fans that think Frank the Tank’s recent hot streak is an anomaly aren’t familiar with the ‘Wisconsin’ Frank. The Frank that ripped the soul from Arizona Wildcats fans, not once, but twice. Back-to-back elite 8 losses to the Kaminsky-led Wisconsin Badgers. His list of accolades while playing for the Badgers is endless. Just to name a few, Kaminsky was a 2 time Big Ten Player of the Year and was the AP Player of the year in the 2014-2015 season. Although Frank would have liked success earlier in his career he’s very happy on where he is and who he is playing with.

Frank had a monster 31 point night where he made 12 out of 18 shots and pulled in 7 rebounds. Kaminsky is now one of the 1st off the bench and he’s not afraid to play big minutes. Frank has been a big part of the Suns resurgence since the 8-0 bubble run at the end of the pandemic season, to the Championship run last year, to early on this season.

Since Deandre Ayton went down to a leg contusion the Suns are 3-0 with Javale McGee and Kaminsky holding it down. Once DA comes back Monty will have a challenge spreading out the minutes but this is a far cry from a year ago in the Playoffs. Last year if Ayton went down we had nobody to fill the void. Now, we have two bodies that can get it done at a high level. For Ayton, that scenario isn’t ideal with him looking for a ‘Max’ contract, his minutes can’t afford to be cut down. That’s a topic for another time.
