‘Super Team’ Era Coming to an End…

The NBA is shifting away from Super Stars teaming up and it’s joyous. The Lakers could have had Demar Derozan and Alex Carusso for the price of Russel Westbrook, Lebron’s decision. The Nets got bounced in 4 quick games, we’ll get to that later. Look at the Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, and defending champion Milwaukee Bucks. Teams that have built through the draft and smart free-agent pieces that fit within a system.
Disaster Strikes in Brooklyn…

We found out Ben Simmons isn’t passionate about basketball. How can a ‘star’ player watch his team get swept and not want to contribute? Could it be that his broken jump shot hasn’t improved after 2 years of not playing competitively? Adding to the mess in Brooklyn is whether Steve Nash can run a team? A team with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving should not be getting swept in the first round. Who knows how this team would have played together if Kyrie wasn’t a distraction with the whole vaccination protocol.
Willie Green has built a new culture in New Orleans…

The New Orleans Pelicans pushed the top seed Suns to 6 hard-fought games. If it weren’t for a perfect game from CP3 this could have gone to a 7th game in Phoenix. This leads to another question in NOLA. Are they better without Zion Williamson? The defense displayed by Jose Alvaredo and Herb Jones was incredible. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum are going to run this team for years to come.
Timberwolves elite talent and elite immaturity are on full display…

The Timberwolves had some colossal meltdowns in their first-round exit. Karl Antony-Towns is supposed to be a superstar on that team. However, he decided to do more talking than playing in the series and Ja Morant had the last laugh. The Timberwolves need to put the ball in Anthony Edwards hands and let him go to work. Karl Anthony Towns can’t consistently get it done and he’s far too soft for any respectable NBA big man.
