When we say, ‘The Natty’, it’s supposed to mean something. A National Championship should be the most competitive game of the season, although we know that’s not always the case. I haven’t seen a beatdown this bad since ASU beat my Wildcats 70-7. TCU was in this game for a brief 45 seconds when the score was 10-7 in the 1st quarter. Then Georgia scored 55 unanswered points and the rest is history. A 65-7 score should NEVER happen in a Championship game. At any level, ever. Twelve teams in the playoff can’t come soon enough. TCU had an outstanding season, however, they had no business playing in a game that determines the best football team in College.

The Playoff Selection Committee had no choice but to put TCU in. With Alabama, Tennessee, and USC all having 2 losses and TCU only losing in the Big 12 Championship Game, that was the logical pick. This will also lead to more NFL hopefuls playing in Bowl games. It’s been an ongoing trend the past few years with players skipping bowl games to focus on the Draft Combine.
Usually there are a few teams crying after the season after learning they didn’t make the playoff but This year the teams on the outside looking in all had 2 losses. Thus making the decision to put TCU in the playoff an easy one. They also controlled Michigan pretty much the whole game so we all thought, could TCU really pull this off? Nope.
