“I am just trying to get better at my craft and perfect it. As you guys know there is no perfect in this game, it is an ongoing pursuit for life. Even when I am retired and done, I will still be hooping. My dad still plays every day, four times a week. It is just in our blood. That is the beauty of this game, you can’t perfect it,” -Devin Booker

The 3 game stretch that D Book is on has only been done by one other player, Wilt Chamberlain. He’s averaging 45 ppg, 6 APG (assists p/game), and shooting 66% from the field. Including a 51-point game in 3 quarters. The 26-year-old has always been a ‘walking bucket’ and a lot of ‘experts’ criticized him for only being a scorer. Especially after his 70-point masterpiece in Boston, where is Bill Simmons now? Devin Booker shares the basketball better than any shooting guard in the league and he doesn’t take plays off on defense. He’s relentless on both sides of the ball and has a love for the game that is unmatched.

For the past two seasons, he’s been the best player on the best team in the West and is still not getting the MVP type of hype one would expect for a guy averaging 29 PPG, 6 APG, and 5 RPG. Booker’s game is consistently evolving. He’s only 26 years old and has been in the league for 8 years now. During his 51-point night, he was nailing sky hooks? Nobody’s seen a sky hook since 1989. Coincidently, that was also Kareem’s final season. Jokes aside Devin Booker is a rare breed on and off the court. The Suns couldn’t ask for a better face of the franchise.

Booker has put last year in the rearview and is focused on what’s in front of him. Booker is mature enough to grow from that disastrous game 7 vs. the Mavs. He’s been a big brother to Deandre Ayton and has been mentored by Chris Paul. It’s a perfect scenario. Everybody on the Suns roster can be lethal but when the game is on the line and it’s time to ‘Be Legendary’, Devin Armani Booker will Book it!
