After 5 straight losses to the Sun Devils the Territorial Cup is coming home to Tucson where it belongs. While the football team was taking care of business, Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats dominated two top 20 teams in back-to-back nights to win the Maui Invitational tournament. There were many Wildcats that had stretches of dominance but in the end, it was Omar Ballo that took home the MVP of the tournament. The 7 foot, 260 lb big man put an exclamation point on the tourney with a 30 point 13 rebound performance against No. 10 Creighton.

Jed Fisch has the Wildcats positioned nicely for the future. Fisch and the Wildcats are bringing the Territorial Cup back to Tucson and he did it with many true freshman on offense and defense. The Wildcats are 6-0 and have the nations 3rd highest scoring offense and number 1 in FG percentage. This team will run you off the court in a hurry and won’t stop coming at you. They have multiple players that can hurt you.
The Wildcats are in great hands with Tommy Lloyd and Jed Fisch. Most of the players that played significant snaps this season were underclassmen. As for men’s basketball, we’re No. 4 nationally after sweeping the competition in Maui. They’re number 1 in points per game, top 5 in FG percentage, and No. 4 in 3-point percentage.
